Wine is a way of life for wine journalist and broadcaster Philippe Boucheron who first went to Champagne in 1957. Since the mid-1970’s he has been writing on wine and in 1987 he began broadcasting, organising tastings and even taking groups to vineyards as far apart as Champagne and the Cape.
He was the 1996 Wine Guild of the United Kingdom’s Regional Wine Writer of the Year. A former vice-chairman of The Circle of Wine Writers he is dedicated to improving the standards of communication about wines and spirits.
He is also committed to promoting awareness of the health giving properties of red wine. A keen advocate for maintaining the balance of nature, Philippe is an enthusiastic supporter of both organic and biodynamic wines.
A regular after-dinner speaker, Philippe knows that people learn more by being entertained than by being talked at. As a result his talks, wine tastings and wine trips can be fascinating, sometimes even hilarious, but always informative.
